We provide routine medical transportation to plan-approved locations such as provider offices, facilities, and pharmacies.Non-medical transportation*
If you have a qualifying chronic condition, you may be eligible to receive non-medical transportation to plan-approved locations such as Sentara Medicare plan-sponsored events, community events, senior centers, places of worship, grocery stores, etc.
Important things to know:
- There is a $0 copay for this benefit for all plans.
- Trip amounts vary by plan and region.
- Transportation is provided for you and, when necessary, one escort.
- Prior authorization is required for trips over 50 miles.
- The rides are one-way.
How to book a ride
Call Sentara Medicare Member Services when you are ready to schedule a ride.

If you have Sentara Community Complete (HMO D-SNP) call 1-866-650-1274 (TTY: 711). If you have another Sentara Medicare plan call, 1-800-927-6048 (TTY: 711).
October 1–March 31 | 7 days a week | 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
April 1–September 30 | Monday–Friday | 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
After business hours and on weekends and holidays our automated phone system will answer your call.
Please have the following information ready when you call to schedule a ride:
- Your Sentara Medicare member ID card
- Any special requests you may have, such as a wheelchair
- Your emergency contact person’s name and phone number
- The address and phone number of where you’re headed
